Mogul and they know that. 🏁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The past 3 days have been a lot — Sad, overwhelming, frustrating to say the least. How did we let this happen? Growing up on the south side of Chicago I know first hand how desensitized black-on-black crime, more specifically speaking, gang violence is. Some of us are so far out of touch with reality that we can’t even properly wrap our minds around the severity of this situation. We blame theories and the government for instance — and I get it, it’s so unbelievable that there must be a higher power of some sort responsible. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ THIS is the result of romanticizing the deepest depths of our culture. We turn to music and rap lyrics to gain knowledge about these experiences and feel as though we can relate, we don’t. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Nipsey was a real one, his excellence spoke volumes.
