Originally home to #UChicago’s Big Ten football program, Stagg Field was the site of the first nuclear chain reaction, which occurred in 1942 under its west stands. It was demolished in 1957, and the Joseph Regenstein Library was later built on the site. Extending from Regenstein is the Joe and Rika Mansueto Library, where UChicago students, researchers, and faculty continue to push the frontiers of science with the assistance of book-retrieving robots. #Nuclear75
