Water and dance create ritual. 🌀 ✨ As part of BMW’s Commission at Art Basel, chapter two of Es Devlin’s “SURFACING” presents a seven-minute configuration of water, voice, light and dance. Collaborating with Paris-based choreographer Sharon Eyal, Devlin treats a box of water as a magician’s conjuring apparatus, surfacing groups of dancers intermittently through layers of water, light, paint and pixels. Every hour, it will immerse viewers in a ritualistic space.
