There are some Americans who wish they had gone to Europe when they had a chance. Bruce Arena is one of them. “I had an offer to go to Denmark after the 2006 World Cup. I turned it down because I was too tired,” the 72-year-old told CBS Sports show KICKIN’ IT. “I regret it. I may still do that now.” “We had done the World Cup in July and they wanted me there next week. I didn’t want to do it.” “I ended up going with [New York] Red Bulls, which was a mistake.” “If I have a chance to coach in Europe now, I’d consider going. There might be a possibility.” Arena started his coaching career all the way back in the 1970s. He hasn’t worked since last August and although he’s enjoying a relaxed life spending time with family, he’s eager to get back to work. “I want to get back into coaching as soon as tomorrow.
