Riley’s first passport stamp: Costa Rica. Fun fact, this was actually the first international trip my mom took me on as well so it felt extra special. I don’t want to sugarcoat it for you, traveling with a baby is challenging. The figuring out of what to bring and how to pack/carry it… The long travel days and, in our case, missed flight leading to an unexpected overnight at a random airport hotel… The constant mental checklist and figuring out how to keep your baby happy/healthy in an entirely new climate. Doing it all on insufficient/interrupted sleep. It’s a lot. But you know what? I look at these photos and can’t help but smile. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I’ve come home with so many amazing memories and with the reminder that everything is figuroutable. I’ve also come home with a new level of confidence in myself as a mom that I’m not sure I would have found without challenging myself to get out there.
