This is one of my favs! (Save this post for your next trip to Colorado or the Aspen area) Weller Lake is located on Independence Pass near Aspen, CO and was a go-to for me during my pregnancy and early postpartum because it’s a relatively easy hike with an incredible view at the end. An added bonus is that it’s shaded the whole way up so it’s great on those hot summer days. Some details about the hike: 1.1 miles round trip 232 feet elevation gain Dogs allowed on leash Some helpful notes: -Trail can be crowded during peak season but if you go at off time (weekdays earlier in the morning or in the afternoon) it’s not uncommon to have the lake all to yourself -It’s a fun lake to paddle board on if you are willing to carry the extra weight -If you follow the trail up the side of the lake there are better spots to hang out and sit #familyadventures #hiking #outdoormom #outdoorfamilies #colorado #visitcolorado #mountainmama
