Would you hike 9 miles in the snow to soak here? Believe it or not these photos were taken on September 9th of last year… It still blows my mind that we got nearly 2 feet of snow this early in the season! This hot springs requires a permit that sells out months in advance so, even though we knew we’d be camping in the snow, we decided to go for it anyway. It was DEFINITELY the chilliest night of backpacking I’ve ever experienced but also totally worth it. This zone generally hosts around 75-100 people every night but there were only 7 of us who made the 9-mile trek in the snow.
