My relationship with snowboarding has definitely had its ups and downs... but hey, that’s pretty normal for any 19-year long relationship. 19 years? Damn, I feel old typing that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In my younger years, when I was competing, I had sooo much of my identity wrapped up in snowboarding that when I quit competing I almost felt like I didn’t know who I was. A combination of ego and confusion left me somewhat resentful for a little while and I got to a point where I wasn’t sure if I would ever actually snowboard again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I moved back to Colorado the spark was reignited. Something about being back in the place where I fell in love with snowboarding in the first place brought me back a feeling of childlike fun. A place where I could *finally* take the pressure off and snowboard in whatever way I felt inspired to in the moment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I love this sport so much. I love how it challenges me, how it inspires me, and how it can make everything else just fade into the distance....
