Even after living in the mountains for most of my life I still get excited about getting cozy by the fireplace with some tea or bundling up to enjoy some fresh cold mountain air. And the way all the mountains and trees look covered in snow? Makes me smile every time. I love winter in the mountains.

Something the made me enjoy winter more and more is learning how to dress properly for it. Growing up I would layer my shell jacket over a big cotton hoodie (or two) and then layer that over a cotton tall-t (yes, I said tall-t… that was the style for snowboarders back in the day lol). If I stayed dry, I would be warm, but I would be so bundled I could barely move, and if any of my cotton layers got wet at all? Forget about it- I was a human popsicle!

Today I am all about functional layers. In the winter I almost always rock something formfitting and moisture-wicking for my base layer so I can always stay cozy and warm and then layer accordingly with a cute insulated jacke...
