Last week I had the privilege of visiting the South Island of New Zealand. We visited the towns of Wanaka and Queenstown, both of which are amazing but both of which we had visited multiple times before, so the real highlight of the trip was a visit to Milford Sound. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Milford Sound is a place that photos just don't do justice... the mountains rise thousands of feet straight up out of the sea and there's literally waterfalls EVERYWHERE you look. It looks like something straight out of a fairytale! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We happened to make this visit at the tail end of New Zealand winter so all the peaks were capped with snow and even though it wasn't snowing down on the valley floor it was definitely cold. I was so grateful for my Murdock 850 Down Jacket from backcountry. This was a favorite layer of mine last winter and getting the chance to wear it again is getting me so excited for this upcoming fall/winter!
