Since a lot of you weren’t following me yet when I got Tabor last fall, I want to retell her story. We rescued Tabor from the local animal shelter and they saved her from a puppy mill in Nebraska. As far as we know she basically lived in a crate with her littermates with little to no socialization with other dogs or people. She’s super cute now that she’s found her confidence, but when we got her she was curled up in a ball.. ears back.. scared eyes.. she basically looked like a little rat with bright blue eyes. The first week all she did was puke and go to the bathroom all over our house and, since puppy mill rescues are known to be a flight risk, she was leash bound for the first few months. We worked with a trainer and showed her all the love in our hearts and, slowly but surely, she came out of her shell.
