We did a bucket list hike we found on Instagram, and it was better than we expected 😮… It was also MUCH harder than we expected—here’s what we learned ⤵️ 📌 Acatenango Volcano, Guatemala 🇬🇹 Have you seen images of or experienced this trek? WHAT you NEED to KNOW ⤵️ **Day 1:** Depart the charming town of #Antigua ~ 8-9 AM. Your tour operator will drive ~ an hour and you’ll begin the strenuous, likely HOT hike UP and through various ecosystems— farmlands, cloud forests, and alpine forests. After reaching base camp 😮‍💨, you can either relax (enjoy sunset & dinner) OR… ADD-ON HIKES… 🌋 1️⃣ OPTIONAL: Fuego @ SUNSET -Take a 2nd, even more strenuous hike UP the active volcano to get closer to the eruptions. This add-on was HARD, and should NOT be taken lightly. Personally, I’d have stayed back and enjoyed sunset from base camp.
