For our first #SUMMERSPOTLIGHT of the year, we’re highlighting Charly Adie (AC ‘23) and Cari Norton (AC ‘24), who both went on a Maymester to Bali, Indonesia on a course focusing on Balinese religion and culture. The group fully immersed themselves into Balinese daily life through various meditations, guest lectures, and temple visits, allowing them to integrate into the local culture. From Charly: “Exploring an entirely new continent was a truly unforgettable experience and I was so lucky to embark on this journey with my sister and newfound friend, Cari! Cari and I were both placed in the same homestay, where we gained the experience of residing with a host family who treated us as if we were their own daughters, spreading consistent kindness and hospitality.
