We’re continuing to share stories from our patients in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day (June 2). Here below is what Robert R. has to say about his journey with lymphoma. We’re grateful to share his story. For more of Robert’s journey and about cancer care at MedStar Health, please visit the link in our bio.
“When I first started feeling a swelling in my groin, I thought I might have a hernia. So, I mentioned it to my provider at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center and was scheduled for a sonogram and blood work right away. The imaging showed a growth in my lymph nodes, and a biopsy confirmed that I had large B-cell lymphoma.
“I had six chemotherapy treatments as well as radiation. It’s now been three years, and I’m doing well. Follow-up scans continue to show that my cancer is under control. I put my trust in my doctors, and they quickly got me the care I needed to get the upper hand on my cancer. I am most grateful.”
