I was referred to MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, where I saw Dr. Ankit Madan, a hematologist and medical oncologist, and Dr. Patricia Wehner, a breast surgeon. “My cancer was found to be estrogen positive and HER2/neu negative, and I had a high risk of cancer recurrence. So, I had a lumpectomy to remove the tumor and additional chemotherapy treatments after surgery to improve my outcomes. Today, I am cancer-free and doing well thanks to all the caregivers at MedStar Southern Maryland.” #NationalCancerSurvivorsDay #CancerSurvivor
