What happens in our lives isn’t inherently good or bad — we make them good or bad.
Whenever something happens, we take the indisputable facts and we add in our opinions. Whether we notice it or not, those opinions are what shape our perception of what’s going on — they paint the picture that says this is a hardship, not a challenge to overcome, or that something is a blessing, a gift, and not a burden.
When you intentionally focus on the good and practice gratitude, you train your brain to default to optimism every time.
