MSU has also been a safe haven for me, and since my freshman year I have taken advantage of all it has to offer with ease, but this year has been different. I have struggled with severe mental illness and some of my lowest points this school year; I regularly doubted whether I would make it through the year. I felt empty and alone despite amazing friends and support systems. At times, it truly seemed impossible, and I felt guilty and even angry at how I was feeling.
