It was discovered relatively early, and my treatment, which involved surgery and radiation, was successful. At the same time, my experience as a patient and a nurse made me much more aware of how alone so many individuals with cancer feel. “Recently, I started working in the radiation oncology department at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, where I see patients struggling with all types of cancer every day.
