When I set out to design Margot’s room in our new house, I was determined for it to be special. Her nursery in our current home is beautiful and features a wonderful Chinoiserie wallpaper that she and I both love. As she grew older and began to interact with the wallpaper more, excitedly pointing out the flowers, birds, and butterflies, I struggled to decide what to do in her new room. Out of the blue, it struck me! A Bemelmans-inspired mural featuring Margot’s beloved Madeleine and whimsical animal friends set in Paris was just the ticket and I knew @rileysheehey was the perfect artist for the job! I commissioned Riley to paint an original mural based on this inspiration that we will scale and print as wallpaper for Margot’s new room. It’s been such a treat seeing the wonderful, behind-the-scenes snippets Riley has been sharing. I cannot wait to see Margot’s sweet face once her wallpaper is installed! #palomacontrerasdesign #rileysheehey #bemelmans #madeleine
