Mixed Metals: Can you mix metal finishes? The answer is a resounding yes! In kitchens and bathrooms, I’ll often mix two of my favorite finishes— unlacquered brass and polished nickel. I usually place polished nickel on frequently touched items such as faucets as shown here and use unlacquered brass for the jewelry— the lighting and cabinet hardware. Both are considered living finishes that will patina over time. The result is a beautiful, layered approach.
