Continuing on from yesterday’s post showing the evolution of the house we’ve called home for the last 5 years— Now, on to the dining room. This room has tall ceilings, beautiful moldings, and big windows overlooking our garden. It gets the most beautiful light throughout the day. As you’ll see in slides 2 and 3, I originally had a triptych of framed degournay wallpaper panels on the focal wall. Eventually, I replaced them with a series of 9 abstract works by artist janetimberlakecooper hung in a tight grid. The impact is undeniable. Louis XVI style dining chairs were replaced with Andre Arbus chairs from the 1930s that I found at the Paris flea market. The drapery and sisal rug remain the same, but I eventually changed the dining table in favor of one from bunnywilliamshome which I’ll be sad to part with once we move as I won’t have a place for it in the new house.
