With all of the coverage of Queen Elizabeth’s passing and the ascension of King Charles III to the throne, there has been non-stop television coverage. Yesterday, I watched an interview with the U.S. Ambassador to the UK, Jane Hartley which took place in the gorgeous green Garden Room at Winfield House and I was reminded of this spectacular space decorated by Billy Haines. The wallpaper was taken from an 18th century manor house in Ireland when Chinoiserie was all the rage and was painstakingly restored in Hong Kong before gracing the walls of this iconic room. #winfieldhouse #england #chinoiserie #chinoiseriewallpaper
