As we reach two-thirds distance, it’s been a bit of a mixed night. First the good; all four drivers have been absolutely flawless, turning in consistently fast and error-free laps aboard the #66 JG Wentworth HPD Acura NSX GT3 Evo around Daytona’s sportscar course. And now the bad. A badly-timed Full-Course Caution just after Mario had made a fuel-and-tire stop in the ninth hour enabled all our rivals who hadn’t yet stopped to pit under yellow and trap us a lap down. And then it happened again, in almost identical fashion, five hours later. Result; we’re still eighth (that hasn’t changed for a while), but two laps down. Frustrating, but the kind of thing you simply cannot predict in endurance racing. Two well-timed cautions are all we need to get back on the lead lap and shoot for the podium.
