(2/3) The Make-A-Wish Colorado founding story continues.... On a hot summer day, seven-year-old Jennifer was sitting on the couch and the doorbell rang. She couldn’t believe her eyes when the KIMN Chicken walked through her front door! All the time she had spent listening to KIMN on the radio while she was in the hospital and hearing about the infamous chicken led to this moment, and it was everything she and her mom could have dreamed of and more. Meeting the KIMN Chicken gave Jennifer joy and happiness during a dark time. It was a moment of pure joy that brought peace and comfort to Jennifer and her mother. Shortly after her wish experience, Jennifer passed away. “It is never easy to lose a child,” said Joan. “But reliving the memory of her day with the KIMN Chicken brought me the courage I needed to get through.
