Star reporter Mike Hendricks argues that the popular restaurant Fritz’s train gimmick is not the best attraction at the restaurant — the Gen Dare is.
The burger, available as a single or double on a sesame seed bun, is topped with ketchup, mustard, pickles and hashbrowns.
Like many burgers on the menu, it’s named in honor of a Kropf relative. Gen was what Fritz always called his wife, Virginia. As for the Dare part, it’s a mystery, says their son Fred, who with his wife, Mary, own the KCK restaurant that his late parents opened in the mid-1960s.
