Give your life defending the United States and Kansas City will remember you. That seems to be evident in the number of memorials in the Kansas City metro area dedicated to veterans who have sacrificed their lives or served during wartime for the defense of the country. One of those memorials is a prominent feature of the Kansas City skyline. The Liberty Memorial Tower at the National WWI Museum and Memorial was dedicated in 1926 to honor those who served in WWI. There are other memorials around the metro where the war dead are remembered in solemn ceremonies. Some memorials, without the pomp, silently await discovery to remind us of those who gave everything for this country.
