A unique Victorian-style home in Bonner Springs with an intriguing history has come onto the market for the first time. The property, which sits on nearly nine acres of land, was built by its current owner, Judy Vickers, and her late husband in 1986. Vickers incorporated historic elements like leaded windows and reclaimed architectural materials she salvaged from Kansas City’s stockyards. “I love the sunroom with the tin ceiling. I like the way it sits up here in the woods. Once the trees leaf out it’s really private and nice,” Vickers said. After raising her family in the home, Vickers decided to convert it into a bed and breakfast in 1996. The Back in Thyme bed and breakfast catered to travelers who sought a safe and comfortable alternative to traditional hotel accommodations. The house has been for sale since October 2022 and the current asking price is $950,000.
