Kansas City’s Stroud’s has closed another express operation. The iconic pan-fried chicken restaurant expanded with Stroud’s Express & Catering outlets in Lee’s Summit and Mission. They had limited hours and a limited menu including fried chicken, livers, gizzards and chicken fried steak and were conceived as carryout only. The Lee’s Summit location opened in late 2020 with a one-year lease. It closed about a year later. At the time, Stroud’s said it would look for another Lee’s Summit location. The location in the Mission Mart Shopping Center, 5405 Johnson Drive, Mission, opened in May 2021. It later added a dining room. It closed on April 16.
