The 107-mile Bite the Bullet Challenge is tricky to pace. A majority of the elevation gain comes in the first half, which has high exposure and can be windy. Having a plan to take that into account will go far! While much of the route’s gravel is compact, there will be several deeper sections, some freshly graded areas and B roads.
