These are not the times to cheer and celebrate but we would like to take the chance of our birthday to show you the 438 years of Hahnemühle´s rich tradition of papermaking. Did you ever see how paper is made by hand, how a single sheet of paper with deckled edges and a watermark arises? We put on a demonstration of our extraordinary art of papermaking in the history of Hahnemühle on February 27th to celebrate our founding date. Of course, a lot has changed in the products and production methods since 1584 when we started with handmade writing papers. Today we manufacture the finest artists' papers, pure filtration papers, and the benchmarking FineArt inkjet papers invented by us.
