Salinas, CA and Yuma, AZ are quite far apart—485 miles by plane and 575 miles by car. But no two cities in the West are closer due to agriculture. Many of the largest fresh produce companies are based in Salinas but grow winter crops in Yuma from November through March. For many of the students at Palma who come from agricultural families, this relationship with Yuma is well known.
Whether you are directly connected to Palma or not, we hope everyone in the community of Salinas feels compelled to come out and support what Salinas—the Salad Bowl of the World—stands for. Who’s ready?!
