The DeSantis family went on an Italian vacation this summer. They were diverted to Palermo due to Mt. Etna erupting but made it to Catania. They spent a week in the small fishing village Brucoli where they swam in the Ionic Sea, went on day trips in which they hiked parts of Etna, and visited the town Ortigia where Paul established a church during his fourth mission. Then ventured to Noto, Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Ragusa, and Sciacca and ended the trip in Palermo. Highlights were the time and meals enjoyed with family, seeing over 50 churches and taking a cooking class using the amazing red prawns, and making Pasta alla Norma! Fun fact...
