Michigan Central Station was once one of the world’s most glorious drug dens.
Left to crumble under the elements, the 640,000 square foot building became a free-for-all zone. Its ruins became synonymous with the decline of Detroit and the left-behind economies of urban America.
Bill Ford, the CEO of Ford Motor Company, is determined to revive it.
Following a $1 billion, six-year effort to create a new innovation hub, the updated Michigan Central Station is set to open to the public June 6.
