Someone recently asked us, “What are you training for?!” A fair question, since we spend most Saturday nights on local trails, hiking late into the evening. I paused because technically we don’t have a big adventure planned, so I responded—“Life” 🤷🏻‍♀️. And yesterday we did it again—found a nearby trail and created a loop using a mix of alltrails (searching established hikes), and maps.me, to link up trails to make our own loop (pic 8). Clocked 18 miles! And since SoCal is HOT—we waited until the afternoon to depart. Greasy, amazing Mexican food after 🤤 🌮—LOVE San Diego taco shops (last pic). It got us talking—WHY do we set out to break ourselves. Why do we enjoy the struggle. What it came down to… It’s not only about being prepared for trails we know we’ll tackle, but for those spontaneous “bucket list” experiences that pop up.
