The fall is a time of immediate feedback, experimentation, and developing skills you need for the spring. If you’re treating it as a party or a relaxed atmosphere, you’re doing it wrong. You’re wasting time. To reach a new level in your game, do this:
1. Infielders: master the slow roller. How quick can you get rid of it? Coaches love athletes. The most athletic move on the infield is the slow-roller. If you need examples of good technique, YouTube Manny Machado slow-roller
2. Outfielders: throw to each base correctly by throwing through the cut and one bouncing it to the bag. Throwing above your cut is the quickest way to give up undeserving extra bases.
3. Catchers: master your leadership through vocalization and directing your teammates on defensive alignments. You’re the captain, take control.
4. Pitchers: locate your second pitch on command (hint: hitters hate the fade away change-ups)
I would say good luck, but when you’re in the driver seat you don’t need luck.
