Powell’s Books is planning to return to the Portland International Airport in 2026. The news comes four years after the bookseller shuttered its store and kiosk at PDX amid financial struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a Port of Portland commission meeting agenda, first noted by Portland civic affairs observer Iain MacKenzie, Powell’s is planning to lease 1,940 square feet of retail space. The store would be in the South Hall area past the security gates between the airport’s B and C gates.
