In my personal opinion, living in a hearing world as a DHH (Deaf or Hard of Hearing) individual involves unique daily challenges and skills. Especially as a hard of hearing person who chooses to utilize amplification. Here are some things I've done in effort to navigate it: Learned to read lips 👄 Strain my ears, neck, and brain 🧠 Attended speech therapy sessions 🗣️ Manage listening fatigue 🛌 Talk on the phone 📞 Learned and mastered spoken language 📝 Constantly observe surroundings 👀 Learned and use assistive technology 📱 Please note -This infographic is meant to EXPLAIN and raise AWARENESS around the difficulties and challanges many DHH individuals face and overcome to thrive in a heraing world.
