This past week I went ahead and did the
@orangetheory 1-mile Benchmark. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept of running, as I have been. This means that we run for 1 mile. All in a row. Without stopping. On purpose. Madness.
As most of you know, I hate running and will probably never, with integrity call myself a runner. Prob the only thing I hate more is rowing. Why am I a member of the OTF Family Cult again?
Anyhoo, I targeted 10 minutes which is a 6mph pace, but decided to start off at 7mph because toxic productivity and irrational self-competition :-)
It was going pretty well, but then I had to listen to my body and take it down a notch. I was in the red for more time than I can ever remember and my legs were about to go on strike.
I ended up running a 9:25. I also came in 2nd in my age bracket; yes, out of two, but whatever. I also PR'd. Yeah, yeah, first time, so also whatever.
Overall I felt pretty good about my time and will prob do it again. Calm down down runners...
