FULL POST ON @PATREON Honestly, I could barely get myself to reflect on the 48 hours of mass shootings that swept into the public view this past week: #MontereyPark, CA; #BatonRouge, LA; #DesMoines, IA; #HalfMoonBay, CA; and the knowledge the so many other shooting events receive very little attention. Hearing the details and watching the speculation, punditry, and hot take attempts, while well-intentioned, for many of us who have been impacted directly by gun violence, this weekend was exhausting. All I could muster were these words for this week's Weekly Word. This is not an invitation to debate — I will delete comments on all platforms that reinforce a culture of violence — I only offer one lens through which we can look at the complexity of gun violence and how to keep fighting to lessen the presence and use of guns while trying to curb our cultural worship of gun culture. It felt good to craft the words, but also maddening how we as a society choose to address (or not address)...
