Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? — Galatians 4:9 There are few things more joyful than the expression on someone's face when they truly become aware of something new in the world. While many new experiences are positive, these discoveries are often heart-breaking and gut-wrenching. Some realizations about the injustices in the world have the same impact as positive ones, they make it impossible to be the same in the future. Sometimes I think we protect ourselves and our children from knowledge because we are afraid of how our and their lives might change. And while we must be discerning as to what exposure is healthy, we must also fully embrace and pursue knowledge, no matter how difficult it may be.
