I am not sharing every Weekly Word*, but here is one inspired by the first verse of Psalm 37. This prayer is a call to, not only avoid giving energy, focus, and even admiration to those who are sowing wickedness and evil in the world, but to trust in God along the way. This is a common refrain throughout scripture, that we leave final judgment to God. Sure, it might feel satisfying to play God. I for one, feel a deep relief knowing that ultimate judgment is not my responsibility to adjudicate. Being a kind, empathetic, and faithful person in the world is difficult enough without giving residence in my spirit to hate wickedness, and evil. With a call to assess where our energy is directed, here is a prayer. WICKEDNESS Do not make an energy offering to purveyors of wickedness The land of your soul is not for the settling of evil The soil of your mind is not for the planting of ambivalence The field of your heart is not for the harvesting of hate Instead, trust the Goodness that emb...
