TDN's #BreedersCup40 Celebration continues today with ESSENTIAL QUALITY 👑 What a ride the son of Tapit took us all on, starting off with a 4-length victory on debut as a 2-year-old that rolled into a 3 1/4 lengths score in the GI Claiborne Breeders' Futurity, propelling him onward to the 2020 breederscup. With Luis Saez in the irons, Essential Quality won the GI Juvenile by 3/4 of a length over Hot Rod Charlie. He only continued to improve the following year, most notably becoming a Classic winner with his 2021 GI belmontstakes victory and continuing on to win the GI Runhappy Travers. The best of his crop, he earned Eclipse Award honors as Champion 2-Year-Old Colt and Champion 3-Year-Old Colt. The first official godolphin homebred to win the Breeders' Cup, he now stands at Jonabell Farm as a member of the darleystallions America stallion roster.
