Introducing the Animal-Assisted Therapy Program! 🐾 We are thrilled to announce that the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has launched the first of its kind in California Animal-Assisted Therapy Program, affectionately known as “Mellow Time.” It is designed to elevate the level of therapy and care provided to our mental health population in custody. 🐶 The primary goal of Mellow Time is to increase out-of-cell (OOC) time for individuals, enhance their social interactions, and foster a more positive relationship with our dedicated mental health professionals. By integrating therapy animals into our care system, we aim to break down barriers and create a more supportive and healing environment for everyone involved. 💙 Soon to come in this program, we will be introducing outdoor time, where we utilize the outdoor R.U.F.F.
