While somewhat conflicted about coming to Hawaii considering all of the local and indigenous voices seeking new ways of supporting anticolonial practices, we are here for the first time in five years. We generally come and hang out for three-four weeks every few summers with various family configurations. Ahh, the summer perks of a consultant and teacher marriage. In any case, like home, we do our best when we are here to shop as locally as we can. It's never enough, but we do our best with the resources we have. Besides stuffing our #SpamMusubi holes nonstop, one of our favorite stops is the @maui_swapmeet where we often pick up both needed and wanted items for ourselves and others. Coming back after five years, it did not disappoint.
