TW: Gun Violence Today, on the 13th anniversary of his murder, I remember my brother-in-law, Brian. He was shot and killed by a co-worker and on that night the lives of four families were forever changed. I cannot imagine the grief felt by my wife, my in-laws, my sister-in-law, his children, and countless others who have had to deal with this kind of loss. What I do know is that anger and gun violence deprived the world and our family of years of last-minute Christmas present wrapping, competitive board-gaming, and a generosity of spirit that the world desperately needs. Do not let anyone tell you that violence must beget violence or that more guns are the answer. To continue to walk down that path will only lead to more violence of body and soul.
