Every day another shooting pops up on our newsfeeds. We may scroll through, or hazard a click, but at the end of the day it seems as if we have simply come to accept gun violence as part of life: more shootings, more bloodshed, more killing, more death, and more families grieving. And we all know that we don't even see every instance of gun violence and that the reports we get are only the deaths that are deemed newsworthy and clickable. We also know that with every suicide, murder, or accident that happens on the receiving end of a bullet, another family is torn apart — like ours. While it may seem bleak, I also know that many people have been and will continue to stand against a culture and all legislation that exacerbates gun violence. For these folks I am grateful. At the end of the day, I choose to believe that someday we will decide enough is enough, but the question is how many more will die before we do?
