Grateful for the invitation from #vote16pa to talk about politics, culture, and policy in #PaloAlto. This was a thoughtful, passionate, and informed panel, most of whom happened to be youth and young adults. We talked about housing, climate change, racism, school openings, policing, youth representation, and the future of our city. You know me, I don't like to romanticize young people, but my heart and soul are always fed when I have the privilege of interacting with and listening to young progressive voices. For those of us in positions of institutional privilege and authority, we must consistently challenge ourselves to create genuine spaces for the voices of young folks to be heard if we are going to get anywhere together.
