Award-winning Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi, detained in Tehran last week, has been ordered to serve six years in prison.
Panahi was arrested after going to Evin prison to ask about two fellow directors arrested days earlier for supporting protests.
The two directors, Mohammad Rasoulof and Mostafa Al-e Ahmad, were arrested over social media posts supporting protests in May in the southwestern city of Abadan that formed after a building collapse.
