The Icelandic Meteorological Office said that while the speed of the flow had decreased, the lava would continue to inch forward. They added that another surge could not be ruled out in the coming days. Local broadcaster RUV reported that a road allowing access to the nearby. Blue Lagoon geothermal spa was to reopen on June 11.
