Several members of our Class of 2019 as well as a current Crusader volunteered at the outstanding Taco Fest fundraiser organized by Matt Riley ‘19 at Deep South Taco. The all-day music festival on Ellicott Street earlier this month raised thousands as it brought awareness to suicide prevention. All proceeds from the event benefited two great organizations: The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and The Devin Waring Foundation. Formed in memory of Devin Waring, who died by suicide at 17 while a student at CHS, the foundation’s mission is to “bring awareness of the darkness of suicide” and to continuously raise money for the awareness of suicide and its prevention.
